How to store leather boots?

Well, i just bought this pair of indoor football boots which is made up of leather so how do i store it to prevent it from being bitten by mice or cockroaches or turn moldy(cuz after i play in the evening, it might get wet and may cause fungus growth-will it?) cuz the boots has a strong leather smell? Thanks! =)

How to store leather boots?
I just put mine in the closet with an old sock in each shoe containing two charcoal briquettes. The charcoal absorbs the excess moisture and any odors which will prevent mold and bacteria from forming. Another alternative is to put about 1/4 cup baking soda into each shoe as it will do the same thing. Just dump it out before you put them on. Avoid foot powders as they are ground so fine that they actually plug the pores of the shoe which will prevent your feet from breathing and will only make the moisture problem much worse. The baking soda will not clog the pores of your shoes. As for mice and cockroaches, you have to treat that problem by spray ing your baseboards, entrances and outside window sills with and insecticide such as Spectracide and put down mouse traps. Roaches can get into the smallest places and mice and rats can chew through brick so unless you are putting them into a lead lined, hermetically sealed box, they are not going to be safe.
Reply:added to Chrono Sage%26#039;s answer. if it is wet wrap them with news paper for a while untill you feel it has absorbed it moist. put camphor powder or any sort you can find. stuff news paper inside the shoe and store it...
Reply:store it away from diract sunlight for its very harmful to Leathers
