White spots on leather boots?

I was recently wearing my leather boots during several rainy days, and they got covered by some white spots (the right boot, especially). I looks as if I draw with chalk all over it. I tried to wash them, of course, but it just didn%26#039;t go away and maybe got even worse. Has anyone had to deal with this before and knows what might work to get them back to normal (their black color)?

Thanks!

As your avatar suggst you are female this may not apply to you - BUT if you spot fine white %26quot;powdery marks%26quot; on a mans shoes, it can tell you two things about him.

1. He is not a very good aim when urinating.

2. He has diabetes.

The reason is that the sugar present in the urine remains on the shoes after the liquid has evaporated. The sugar crystals stand out quite well on black shoes.
Reply:Get some black shoe polish. Use it on them with a soft cloth, then buff it off with a shoe brush.
