Re: Women's Leather Boots?

Every year I want to buy long leather boots but despite not having fat legs I have big calves and so can never do up the last 2 inches of the zip on standard boots. Is there any way to stretch the leather to make them fit? I don%26#039;t want to buy the ones that have elastic at the top - I think they look horrible. Thanks

Re: Women%26#039;s Leather Boots?
You could also try looping a shoelace through the zip and pulling on that - you can exert a lot more pressure and will probably find that most boots will do up that way.

Reply:yes i have the same problem the amount off boots i have try ed on only to get so far and the zip wont go anymore

OK first if you do find a pair that you can just about get up get them and when you are home and no ones looking you will get them up i do trust me

second have you tried a pair the next size up and wear thick socks that works as well but look for a brand called ecco

they are very nice boots and will give that little bit with a bit off pulling you can get them from marks and bhs and they are about £50 hope that helps

Reply:Try Evans. Yes, I know you%26#039;re not fat!

I think shoetailor.com also do wider calf widths.
Reply:i would suggest duoboots.com in the UK. they are good.
Reply:There was a feature in November%26#039;s Prima (yes, I know I%26#039;m very sad!) that has a lovely pair of black, high heeled, high length boots in 21 calf widths. They%26#039;re a bit pricey (£130)! and are from Duo (www.duoboots.com) and no elastic. Hope this helps.
Reply:I would try evans.
Reply:Take them into a shoe repair shop. Leather stretches a little bit. Men do this all the time. They have those little wooden things they shove into the shoe, and then wind it so it stretches. I%26#039;m sure a shoe repairman can help you. Don%26#039;t risk tugging. You could ruin the zipper.
